For all those people still enjoying the Park – the workmen will endeavour to not close the park entirely at any stage of the works, but fence off the areas being worked on.

February 2026 - Work starts!
BCP Council start clearing works – cutting back the undergrowth, putting in a new path and replacing the fence round the viewpoint. What a transformation!




January 2026 - Playground design finalised
Following several meetings throughout December and January between BCP Council, the Canford Cliffs Land Society, and our Ward Councillors, the final playground design and equipment is agreed.
November 2025 - Playground supplier selected by BCP Council

Centenary Party in the Pirate Park!

July 2025 - Decision time: CIL Funding Awarded
£70k funding awarded by BCP to replace and repair existing play equipment in the Pirate Park. This matches the planned funding from the Land Society.

It’s important to get the views of as many local residents and interested others as possible on the proposed playground improvements. These views will help inform the plans for the playground improvements plus are a vital step in supporting Community Funding from BCP Council. Spring 2023 - Idea for a 'Grand Project' to mark the Society's Centenary!
The Canford Cliffs Land Society Committee conceives a plan to mark the 100th anniversary (2025) of the Canford Cliffs Land Society with a big project that will benefit the local community. They decide to hold a celebratory centenary party and fund improvements to the Pirate Park.
